The third annual Green Bay Minicon (Code name: Threetacon) will once again be held in (where else?) Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 2-4, 2007.
A $49 donation will include a traditional winter sleigh ride, pulled by two Percheron draft horses through the woods and a brat and booyah feast complete with June's famous Pineapple Fluff and an open bar fully stocked with lots of Old Fashioned mix and Doctor. Also included in registration is a coach bus tour of Door County, which has been called the Midwest's version of Martha's Vineyard. We'll make stops at a rural award-winning cheese factory, several wineries that offer tastings, Joe Rouer's and Storheim's Frozen Custard. Money is payable via PayPal or by check (send Weet an e-mail or PM for details). Additional planned activities include an evening of karaoke, a trip to Lambeau Field and a once a year extravaganza at the newest Baddest Bar in town.
Deadline for registration
is January 30th, as that's when the bus company needs payment for
whatever size bus we're going to need. Registrations will be accepted after that date as
space allows. We have reserved a 34
passenger bus, so that means that until the list on the side hits 35 paid
registrations (Esteban won't be on the bus, so there's one more spot open), you can still guarantee a spot on the bus. First paid
registration received, first served.
Of course, sometimes even the best laid plans go awry, so if it turns out that something is going to prevent you from coming after you register, let us know ASAP. We can refund anything that hasn't already been spent on ordering the bus/sleigh, buying food/supplies and the Paypal fee. Obviously, we hope this won't be an issue and that everyone will get to have fun in the snow with us in March!
The traditional host hotel is St. Brendan's Inn, which will be the single meeting point for all transportation and group events. To thank us for filling their Inn each year, St. Brendan's has again extended the original 2005 group rate of $89 per night. To receive this rate, you must call (866) 604-7474 to make your reservation under the group code "Weetacon". They do not charge a deposit to your card and you can cancel as late as the end of February. We expect to fill their 28 rooms as we have every year, so reserve early!
